AZ tours tourboat Cruise
With a heavy heart, I have decided to close my Lake Pleasant operation. It was a lovely, difficult and amazing time in my life. I love you all.
Many people come to my website after purchasing a Groupon, Living Social or Deal Chicken certificate. I have never conducted marketing of this type.
You purchased your Groupon from Lake Pleasant Nautical Tours, based at Pleasant Harbor Marina. AJ, the owner of that operation, can be contacted at: (602)574-6624. If you are not satisfied with Lake Pleasant Nautical Tours' handling of your refund, I suggest you call Groupon Support:
How to reach a live person:
When the recording starts, hit "0". Listen to the recording ramble on and eventually you will be put in "music on hold" and wait for a customer service rep.
Hours of Operation:
Customer Service can be reached during normal business hours, central time.
Living Social and Deal Chicken also have redress available. If you feel you have been taken advantage of, please contact Maricopa County Parks. They can also provide a list of legal operations on the Lake.
Once again, I have never sold a discount coupon for my business. Please stop contacting me about your Groupons. I can not honor them. All of the broken promises surrounding these Groupons are the primary reason I am leaving Lake Pleasant. Through no fault of my own, terrible damage was done to my reputation.
I believe I have already honored all gift certificates I sold. However, if you have one, I would be delighted to refund your money. Just drop me a line. Please make sure you have the original gift certificate on hand. I will need it to process your refund.
If you would like to take a Lake Pleasant tour, the only operation I recommend is Captain Clint Sutter at: howtosailAZ.com. He does sailboat tours, lessons and charters.
If you choose to take another tour, it would be an excellent idea to check that the operation is permitted by the County, carries appropriate insurance, and that the captain is licensed by the US Coast Guard. There are a lot of illegal tour operators out on the Lake. Caveat emptor, friends.
What's next? We hope to move to San Diego and begin to run Oberon as a whale watching/harbor tour/sportfishing boat based on Harbor Island. It will take some time to get all the permits in place, but I hope to be operational this summer. I will post Web links and schedules on this site, if you care to check back. Custom charters anywhere in the world are also available. Where do you want to go? I now have the time to take you there!
Captain Chuck is back in Redondo Beach, running boats for Hornblower Tours. He, too, sends his love, and asked me to let you know he is seeking investors for a boat lifesaving device he designed and patented.
Here is my personal contact info:
So, friends, I will miss the silences of the canyon, the Blue Heron babies, the soft-eyed burros, and most of all the smiles of wonder on your faces as the mysteries of the Sonoran Desert became yours.
Maybe Edward Abbey said it best:
“Benedicto: May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. May your rivers flow without end, meandering through pastoral valleys tinkling with bells, past temples and castles and poets towers into a dark primeval forest where tigers belch and monkeys howl, through miasmal and mysterious swamps and down into a desert of red rock, blue mesas, domes and pinnacles and grottos of endless stone, and down again into a deep vast ancient unknown chasm where bars of sunlight blaze on profiled cliffs, where deer walk across the white sand beaches, where storms come and go as lightning clangs upon the high crags, where something strange and more beautiful and more full of wonder than your deepest dreams waits for you -- beyond that next turning of the canyon walls.”
Fair winds and following seas to you all.

Lake Pleasant Wildlife Tours
Just 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix, you can visit a desert oasis. Bald eagles nest along the canyon walls, wild burros come down from the desert highlands and play along the shores. Deep in the inlets and coves, spring flowers trail their leaves in clear water.
Learn about wildlife, plants and history.
People have been living in Central Arizona for 15,000 years. Hunter-gatherers and farming cultures gave way to Jesuit and Franciscan priests, Spanish gold prospectors, cattlemen, farmers, Gold Rush miners, gunfighters and outlaws. Arizona's history is intertwined with the plants and animals of this desert landscape. Aboard Oberon, your Captain will teach you things about Arizona you never imagined. Each trip is different, unique to the group aboard. Ask a question! Let's see where it takes us!
Feel free to bring your lunch or a snack aboard. Located at the Scorpion Bay docks, Dillon’s specializes in smokehouse cuisine. If you would like, Dillon’s can also cater any special event aboard Oberon. Dillon’s is happy to take your order over the phone, and they will have it ready when you arrive.

Let us make your private charter special
Oberon is a fabulous platform for private events. With catering from Dillon’s and beautiful Lake Pleasant surrounding us, a private trip is a truly memorable experience. Would you like to be dropped off on an island to watch the sunset? A cozy lake cruise for your family and friends? Or perhaps you would simply like more time to explore the quiet canyons and still waters of upper Lake Pleasant. It is our pleasure to share this place with you.
